RELIABILITY, ACCURACY AND COMPLIANCE WITH THE HIGHEST QUALITY STANDARDS.
AT TECHLAB, WE FOLLOW STRICT TECHNICAL AND OPERATIONAL CRITERIA TO ENSURE THAT OUR TESTS ARE RECOGNIZED AND ACCEPTED NATIONALLY AND INTERNATIONALLY.

TESTS FOR TELECOM CERTIFICATION AND PRE-TESTS FOR EQUIPMENT VERIFICATION

TELECOM approval is mandatory, and the products subject to it are divided into three certification models:

  • Certification based on Type Testing with Periodic Evaluation of the Product and Manufacturing Management System every year: terminal equipment intended for use by the general public to access telecommunications services of collective interest;
  • Certification based on Type Testing with Periodic Evaluation of the Product every two years: equipment not included in the first model, but which uses the radio spectrum for signal transmission, including antennas and those characterized in specific regulations as restricted radiation radio communication equipment;
  • Certification based on Type Testing (exempt from periodic assessment): any products not covered by the above definitions, for which regulation is required.

LABORATORY TESTS FOR EXPLOSIVE ATMOSPHERE PRODUCTS

At TechLab, we understand the importance of safety and compliance in environments where explosive atmospheres may be present. Our testing services are designed to provide rigorous and accurate assessments, ensuring that your products meet the highest safety standards.

What we offer:

  1. IP protection rating testing: Type of protection provided by an enclosure against access by solid objects, dust, and water. Classified by number, the tests evaluate the enclosure’s ability to prevent access to live parts and provide effective protection when exposed to the elements.
  2. Explosion-proof enclosure testing: Designed to contain and withstand the pressure developed during an explosion, explosion-proof enclosures are subjected to rigorous testing to assess their ability to withstand high pressures.
  3. Pressurized enclosure testing: Pressurized enclosures are designed to prevent the ingress of an external atmosphere into an enclosure or environment by maintaining the internal protective gas at a pressure higher than the external atmosphere. The ability to maintain internal pressure and ensure that no explosive atmosphere enters is evaluated in the tests.
  4. Tests for equipment with increased safety: : Type of protection applied to electrical equipment or Ex components in which additional measures are applied to provide increased safety against the possibility of excessive temperatures and the occurrence of arcs and sparks.
  5. Tests for intrinsically safe equipment: Type of protection based on restricting electrical energy within equipment and interconnection wiring exposed to explosive atmospheres. Tests and evaluations ensure that the energy levels applied to this equipment are not capable of igniting an explosive atmosphere.
  6. Tests for encapsulated equipment: Type of protection in which parts that are capable of causing ignition are encapsulated in a compound. Their thermal, mechanical, and physical characteristics are evaluated during testing.
  7. Tests for enclosures installed in areas with combustible dust atmospheres: Type of protection where electrical equipment is supplied with an enclosure that provides protection against the ingress of combustible dust. The tests evaluate this capacity and the means of limiting high surface temperatures.
  8. Technical analysis of designs One of the main challenges for manufacturers of electrical equipment for explosive atmospheres is the development of the technical design of the equipment, given the complexity of the standards involved in this process. TechLab has a technical team qualified to evaluate the design in accordance with the standards, which is an effective tool in the product development phase.

LABORATORY TESTING FOR ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONIC PRODUCTS

Household appliances are designed for use in domestic and similar environments, and their safety is of utmost importance. The IEC 60335-1 series of standards establishes safety requirements for these products, covering aspects such as protection against electric shock, fire hazards, mechanical stability, among others.

In this context, the laboratory performs a series of tests on these appliances, following the guidelines of the IEC 60335-1 series of standards, with the aim of assessing the product’s compliance with the established safety requirements. Some of the main tests performed include:

Applied Voltage Tests: Check the electrical insulation resistance of the appliance at high voltages, ensuring protection against electric shock.

Heating Tests: Evaluate the temperature rise of parts of the appliance during normal use, identifying possible risks of burns or fire.

Stability and Mechanical Tests: Check the appliance’s resistance to impacts, falls, and other conditions of use, ensuring its stability and integrity.

Protection Against Penetration by Objects and Water Tests: Assess the degree of protection of the appliance against the ingress of dust, solid objects, and water, ensuring user safety.

By performing these tests, the laboratory contributes to ensuring the safety of household appliances, providing confidence to manufacturers, importers, and, above all, end consumers. This is one of the fundamental activities carried out by this laboratory, aiming to protect public health and safety.

LABORATORY TESTS FOR ELECTROMEDICAL PRODUCTS

Electromedical devices play a fundamental role in healthcare, being used for diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of patients. Due to the critical nature of their application, the safety of this equipment is of utmost importance.

In this context, the laboratory performs a series of tests on these appliances, following the guidelines of the ABNT NBR IEC 60601-1 standard, with the aim of assessing the product’s compliance with the established safety requirements. Some of the main tests performed include:

  • ELECTRICAL SAFETY TESTS: Verify protection against electric shock under both normal and fault conditions, ensuring the integrity of patients, users, and operators.
  • Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Tests: Evaluate the equipment’s ability to function properly in its electromagnetic environment, preventing interference that could compromise the device’s performance.
  • Essential Performance Tests: Verify that the equipment maintains its fundamental performance during use, meeting the specific requirements of its clinical application.
  • Biocompatibility Tests: Evaluate the compatibility of the materials used in the equipment with the human body, ensuring patient safety.

By performing these tests in accordance with the ABNT NBR IEC 60601-1 standard, the laboratory contributes to ensuring the safety and effectiveness of electromedical devices, providing confidence to manufacturers, healthcare professionals, and, above all, patients. This is one of the fundamental activities carried out by this laboratory, aiming to protect the health and well-being of users.
